Modesty is the opposite of what is blasted all over our mainstream culture. Just a day or so ago on my Facebook Newsfeed I read a question asking others how they felt about the dress policies in school (I 100% agreed with my FB friend that immodesty can affect students within their learning environment). Modesty & immodesty are all around us. We’ve all heard that saying, “What’s on the inside is what matters”…well… I wanted to do a *happy dance* when I read what Courtney at Women Living Well had to say on this issue in a recent blog post.
How we present ourselves to others gives an impression. Not necessarily being fashionable, stylish, or trendy…but modest. I’ve heard some people say “I don’t care what people think about me.” Wake up people! How people perceive you is a part of your witness. Before you can bring others to know the Lord…they have to trust and respect you in order to believe in what you are sharing.
Search your soul. Look at yourself in the mirror. How is your outward appearance representing your inward beliefs?
