“Her children rise up and call her blessed…” is what the bible says of the Proverbs 31 woman. Until I became a mother I never fully understood how much that statement truly means. Above all people on this earth, the opinion that matters the most is that of my son. I want to breathe my last breath of mortality knowing that Rypken believes I did all I could as his mother.
I want him to know that I will help him pick up the pieces when things go wrong. I want him to know that he will always be my priority. I want him to know that no matter the circumstances, I will love him more than myself.
Most of all, I want Rypken to know where I will be when I’m gone… The greatest gift a mother can have is knowing her child will reunite with her in Heaven.
All of the hopes and dreams of being the Proverbs 31 woman/mom/wife is encompassed in my mother. No matter how she feels, she puts everyone before herself. No matter the circumstance, she is always genuine and kind. No matter the problem, she finds a solution. No matter the bad mood, she’ll find a way to make you laugh. (as you can see below lol)
My mom is the kind of mother many people wish they had. She never missed any of my sporting events, singing gigs, or acting debuts. She prayed with me before I left the house to go anywhere. I watched her (and still watch her) fast every Wednesday to pray for everyone and everything thing on her list. (I could go on and on…)
On top of all of these amazing parts of my fabulous mother…she is beautiful, hilarious, and has the best laugh of anyone I know. God overflowed my cup when He chose her as my mom.
I can only hope to have just a few of the many characteristics she possesses and I thank God that Rypken has such a great NaNa to learn from every day.
Love you, Mom! Happy Mother’s Day 2013!
