{GMG Advent Study} Week 1: HOPE

The Good Morning Girl Advent Study finally started this week!  I pray you have found some time out of your day to focus on the Reason for the Season! Week one’s theme is HOPE.

Hope is defined as:

To want or expect something: to have a wish to get or do something or for something to happen or be true, especially something that seems possible or likely

When God sent his only son to be born of a virgin in the middle of nowhere, he gave us hope. If you know Jesus as your personal Savior, then you have hope of living eternally with those who have gone before you. You have hope to get you through hard circumstances. You have hope for God’s will to happen in your life. God’s gift to us came in the form of a tiny baby born in a manger so many years ago.  Because of Jesus, if we ask him into our hearts, we are given hope in such a hopeless world.  So many look for hope in negative places. I came across this picture on pinterest and knew I had to share it…

Puts things in perspective doesn’t it?  If we hope positively, then our expectations will be of God. It is easy to fall into negativity, to think poorly of ourselves and others. If our expectations and wishes come from a positive place, then our hope will reflect Him! This week our advent candle represents Jesus, the “light” of men.  Be a mirror of that flame and reflect positivity to those around you! Shine your inner light and illuminate the path to hope through God!

Please share your thoughts so far for this week in a comment below!!!  Also, I would love to hear how you have arranged your advent candles!  I will post mine this weekend! Good Morning Girls posted theirs today if you need some inspiration.

God Bless & Shine On,

So far I’m loving the scriptural selection. I love that it has not just literal scripture about the born Savior and his life, but also the prophesy surrounding Him.
I just finished a year long study of Isaiah so it’s also cool how the Lord has been using that in my study to help me further my appreciation for the study.
This is my first GMG study, but it won’t be my last!

Thanks for the sweet encouragement! I really loved the Hope acronym. I loved what you said “If we hope positively, then our expectations will be of God.” And that is soo true. I will be posting my advent candles soon.
